Finally – Free Speech About Science and Dietary Supplements!

Most of us already know about the tremendous health benefits of dietary supplements. But have you ever wondered why there isn't more scientific support for the supplements you take from the manufacturers who make them?

The reason is because it's illegal for any dietary supplement manufacturer to link their product to any health condition, no matter the scientific support. This could soon change, however, if the Free Speech About Science Act of 2010 (H.R. 4913) were to become law.

Introduced by Rep. Chaffetz (R-UT) and co-sponsored by Rep. Polis (D-CO), the Free Speech About Science Act (H.R. 4913) would allow dietary supplement manufacturers to make health claims on their products as long as they are backed by credible, legitimate scientific research.

This is a short bill with a huge impact. If passed, it would forever change the landscape of natural health, increasing the industry's credibility and public image. For the first time, consumers would be able to know exactly what a supplement is proven to do, instead of having to sift through veiled claims and anecdotal information.

To actually be able to tell the truth about the health benefits of dietary supplements would help consumers make informed decisions about preventative medicine, and remove the stigma that dietary supplements are nothing more than "snake oil," as some opponents would like you to believe.

You can also expect the media to be mysteriously silent about the bill until it appears to have a good chance of becoming law, since Big Pharma spends hundreds of millions of dollars on commercial advertising each year.
